When we think of an arboretum, a "green" image immediately springs to mind. This holds true for our arboretum—the Buda Arboretum—but it is so much more than just "green." The "Arbor" is not merely one of the few arboreta in Hungary; it is a truly extraordinary place that fulfills multiple functions and modes of use. It serves as a green island within the city's built environment, simultaneously acting as a botanical collection, a public park, and a university campus, while its rich historical background makes it even more unique and diverse.

During the brainstorming process, it became clear that the true challenge lies in the sheer density of the Arboretum’s numerous functions, usage patterns, and the associated spaces, objects, and structures. Therefore, the primary inspiration and concept revolve around organizing and clarifying these elements and functions—bringing order and structure to the space.
