In the spring of 2022, the Municipality of Szentendre approached the Department of Landscape Protection and Reclamation with the concept for the phased development of an ecological demonstration site and a medicinal and herb garden on a city-owned plot along Kőhegyi Road. Based on years of successful cooperation with the department, the city once again sought to execute the design task as an educational practicum involving student participation.
The design program defined an outdoor facility capable of accommodating the following functions:
Creative, "forest school-style" educational programs for preschool and school groups
Multi-day day camps for school children
Sustainability workshops for high school students
Advanced educational programs for interested adults
Lectures, workshops, and courses for adults
Quiet rest areas for those seeking solitude
Picnic areas for families and groups for multi-hour stays
Opportunities for visitors to taste and purchase local products
